I read a lot of fic. " " Both slash and het. From these stories I've acquired my biggest pet peeve.

When an author is writing in second or third person and for some reason uses the phrase I mean.

For example:
I mean, you got the feeling something was off.

Just arrrgh!

Oookay.

I was just checkin' out an icon making community and it freaked me out lots.

It had a bad, bad, ugly background and colors that were hard to read in IE, little tiny font, lots of people talking in that weird slang that has missing vowels, and at least one person randomly asking to be friended.
